Against a lvl 60, the chance of a spell to be resisted is 4%. But due to game mechanics there is ALLWAYS a 1% chance for the target to resist. So +3% spell hit is all you need if you're not going to MC a mob of higher lvl than 60.
A tip for the Instructor fight in Naxx is to let a mage put amplify magic on the adds, because you heal so much more with the buff applied.
And once taunted with a understudy, Instructor never turn to anyone else until another Understudy taunts him. And I mean never. (+the Understudys hit for about 4500dmg on each hit on Razuvious).
It is sayn that the understudys have 0 shadow ress, but somehow the MC's lasts longer with warlock curse applied.
I always ended up dying due to aggro from the adds. Even with a tank in blues/epics. Luckily I decided to try out MCing an Anvilrage Medic on a trash pull <3
The elite Medics has several times my hp and mana, and a normal heal (1000-2000) + a PoH. The adds couldn't get him even to 50% until Bael'Gar was down, with me at full health and full mana minus the mind control. Also should the medic die, I am still at full hp/mana. Better him than me :P
I have been wondering the many uses of MC in smaller instances, usually it is only used in encouters that require it (like Razuvious).
I also always get the +83 FR buff from Scarshield Spellbinders when going UBRS Very nice sticky, just to add, a priest + a mage can farm Strat / Scholo in duos using MC, shackle and sheep (note that mage with ice build works more efficiently). A friend mage and me, managed to clear all trash mobs in Scholo + Rattlegore, Ras Frostwhisper and some other melee lesser bosses. It is damn fun to have such crowd control habilities .
