The lock runs to me with auto-spell-lock and devour on. He easily gets within 30 yards, deathcoils and dots me up nicely, maybe getting a nightfall proc. He then times his fear at the end of the deathcoil, at which time i trinket or iceblock, because i dont trust lag. I've lost some health, he's on full.
He then throws a few instant dots on me and starts lifedrain, which i counterspell. He's still on full, and i try to nuke him down from well over 10k health in 8 seconds. In this time, he burns off my fireward and keeps in range of me.
After 8 seconds of counterspell, he starts a fear (which i use improved AM on to slow down), dots me up and starts lifedraining again. I iceblock/trinket the fear, and try to nuke - pet comes out. His pet is hitting me, so i cant cast that well, so, as you say, i use improved AM am again. I freeze the lock, he trinkets/spellstones/devours and keeps walking to me. The pet is hitting the lock, but he's syphon lifed him, so its actually healing him quite nicely for my troubles.
By this time, i'm generally at around 30% health, and the lock is on 80% or more, i've burnt a pet, its nova, CS, iceblock, my trinket and probably WOTF if i'm unlucky. All he has to do now is drain life, and he has his trinket, maybe healthstone, instant pet re-summon and the potential to LOS/bandage.
And, that's considering no resists on him, from summoning buff from the felhunter. The important thing for fighting SL SL warlocks is to remember that you have 36 yard range on frostbolt, as does your pet. His fear is 20 yards, banish 30. I cannot remember if these are increased by the lock range talent Grim Reach - it says affliction spells.. I don't know if those two are affliction. Locking down their shadow tree is going to really help, especially if you catch banish (and fear, later) Say you got him sheeped, you move to 30+ yards and nuke him absolutely full out. He has to run into range, so save your Freeze for after the first 2-3 bolts (perhaps more if he's slow and you got icy veins up..). Once he gets near that 30 yard mark, use the nova. If he's in range to banish then you're in range to CS. After those 8 seconds of having no shadow tree a lot of locks panic and don't bother banishing the pet. :P
Having imp arc missiles helps, because you can cast this through a pet hitting you. Locks with Fel Concentration have a 70% chance to avoid interruption when channeling drain spells, and Arc Missiles is your highest-dps-slash-most-regular-hitting spell, at one bolt per second. It's your best chance at nullifying his drain life's effectiveness, also remember that AM without MSD is your 5sec mana regen mark.. every little helps, especially if you're casting AM more than usual! Casting this with MSD up is incredibly effective.
