WoW Mage Guide 008

1v1 means nothing, and means less then nothing when you mix situations up and generate different playfields for different 1v1s. Dps versus healer is in favour of healer allways, a healer is meant to be able to fend off 1 dps atleast till the mana bar is empty. Or else the need for a healer would be zero.

Second of all: Mages have it good in the two upper brackets, they are needed and wanted in 3v3 and 5v5 and are one of the most represented classes. Good CC and great dps works it seems, go figure. When it comes to 2v2 (a bracket that is all setup/synergy based) I agree that it is worse. Mages have few partners to choose from and its either lock or rogue really that is competitive. Still, this bracket is just lol

Third and last: This anticlass whining is just stupid, what are you jabbering on about? You listed the speccs of the classes you have a hard time beating, then you say that 7/9 classes are anticlasses, wtf? I would say its more like 10/27 trees/speccs that you will have a hard time beating. For example you mention locks, sl/sl is too hard I must admit, that means that 1/3 lock speccs is your antispecc.

1v1 never happens in world of warcraft. Ever. Especially not in 2v2 arenas, the most popular arena bracket. So its fine we lose so many 1v1s, right?

Every class in general has "best" PVP specs for arenas/battlegrounds. That's 1 (or 2, with hunters) per class. Mages can beat most offspecs and PVE specs, which is hardly useful. Against PVP specs, we struggle.

As I tried to say, 2v2 is a lol arena. Some setups are insanely strong because of synergies and combinations. It is a bracket where setup is everything. 2v2 should imo be removed, and it actually never was the intention to make them "go live"
